At each of our nursing and care homes, your loved one will have the opportunity to live life to the full, with a varied and interesting schedule of activities and events available for them to take part in. Activities are focused around wellbeing and socialisation, with lots of organised group activities taking place daily that are arranged by a team of skilled activities organisers.

Your relative can choose to take part in a wide variety of fun, engaging and accessible activities, or continue to pursue their favourite hobbies, however they choose to spend their days. If they require a bit of extra support in these hobbies, dedicated one-on-one time with our team members is the perfect chance to do their favourite activity while enjoying a chat.

Activities play an important part in the holistic, person-centred care your loved one will receive at any of our homes, caring for mental wellbeing is just as important as the physical support they will receive.

Expressing creativity and exploring new hobbies

If your relative had an artistic flair or enjoys creative hobbies, they will have plenty of opportunity to express their creativity at our homes. From arts & crafts sessions, knitting, artistic projects and even poetry clubs, whatever art style appeals to your loved one we can provide the tools and a relaxing space to get creative, either as part of a group activity or as a solo project.

We understand how important it is to have time for favourite hobbies and will make sure your loved one can continue their chosen pastime at our homes, some of our residents play instruments, write poetry, enjoy a game of chess … to name a few.

Musical entertainment and performances

Music has the power to spread happiness and conjure up fond, which is why it plays such a big part in the activities calendars at our homes. Your family member will have the chance to enjoy a wide variety of musical entertainment, thanks to the wonderful performers who visit our homes on a regular basis.

If your loved one enjoys classical music from live musicians, a sing-along to some ‘golden oldies’, taking part in music therapy sessions, watching talented dancers or variety show productions, we will have something to suit their tastes. We are always open to requests, and joining in with the singing and dancing is highly encouraged.

Activities that benefit the mind and body

Our schedules are carefully planned to include activities that benefit the mental and physical wellbeing of every resident. Your family member might enjoy baking a cake, doing some gardening or being pampered in a spa session with our staff, however they prefer to spend a relaxing and fun afternoon.

A favourite activity for many residents are animal therapy sessions, where your loved one can spend some time with some adorable cats, dogs, rabbits and even farm animals. They can also choose to take part in our armchair exercise sessions and guided reminiscence activities.

Year-round celebrations and special occasions

Throughout the year, seasonal events and special occasions are celebrated at our home with music, decorations and lots of laughter. Your relative is always welcome to take part and we would love to also have you join us for these special events.

From birthdays and anniversaries to our annual summer and Christmas parties, as well as events planned around various cultural celebrations, there is a busy events calendar at all our homes. We know how much you enjoy sharing these occasions with your family member, so we often open up our homes to invite family and friends to join in.

Community activities and adventures

Each of our homes are surrounded by wonderful local communities that your loved one will be able to take full advantage of. They are welcome to come along for our regular minibus trips to explore places of interest, such as garden centres, museums and places of natural beauty. We often venture into the nearby villages to make use of the local amenities, or for some refreshments in the independent cafes and local pubs.

Our homes are grateful to be supported by members of our communities; volunteers, religious institutions and even local schools, who are always happy to visit our homes and spend time with the residents.
