Celebrating our staff’s successes in 2025

Published on 13th January 2026

2025 was a fantastic year for the Beritaz Care team. We welcomed new staff, saw our team members develop their skills, and had the opportunity to celebrate both professional and personal achievements together as a team.

Over the past year, we have seen the Beritaz Care team grow and have been joined by new staff across a variety of roles as part of our recruitment campaigns. These team members have been through an extensive onboarding process as well as receiving a lot of support from our existing staff to help them settle in.

We were also pleased to see existing team members progress in their careers this past year. Several team members across our homes have taken on new responsibilities and transitioned into senior roles. We are always proud to see our team members progress and grow in their Beritaz Care careers, and are delighted to support them on their journeys.

One of the most exciting changes of 2025 was for the Springkell House team, as long-term staff member Jogi took on the role of Home Manager. Jogi has been with the home since 2004. His experience and compassion towards both the residents and staff at the home make him the perfect fit for the role of Home Manager. Jogi has received great support from his team and Beritaz Care colleagues since becoming Home Manager. He led the team through a CQC inspection shortly after taking on the role and was praised by inspectors for his passion and vision for the home. We are thrilled to see Jogi take on the management of Springkell House.

2025 was a big year for staff training and development, with some exciting opportunities for our staff to learn new skills. Within the homes, teams continued to participate in regular skills training, taking part in courses on practical skills like fire safety, first aid, and moving and handling, as well as care-specific training, ensuring they had knowledge of industry developments and best practices.

Many of our staff spent 2025 working towards individual qualifications, including NVQs, management training, chef training, degrees, and nursing qualifications. Several team members achieved their level 3 and 4 qualifications in 2025, and many others are continuing to work towards their next qualification. We are incredibly proud of all our team and the dedication they show to furthering their skills within the care industry and beyond.

Supporting our staff to further their skills and progress in their career journeys is something we are passionate about as an employer. Our Gold Investors in People accreditation, which we received based on assessments of our Surrey-based homes during 2025, is a testament to our commitment to inspire, support, and care for our staff, ensuring they feel heard and valued.

During the summer, members of our management and administrative teams, from across our homes and Business Support Centre, came together for the Beritaz Better Future Team Day. The team took part in a variety of exercises tackling the topics of teamwork, problem-solving, and wellbeing, as well as considering the impact sustainability and AI advances have on the future of the care industry and the role they will play for us at Beritaz Care. This was a very valuable experience for us and was a wonderful opportunity to be together in the same room, sharing stories, ideas, and experiences.

Prioritising staff mental wellbeing has been a big focus for us over the past year. Mental health is an incredibly important topic and something we want to encourage conversation around. 2025 saw several initiatives set up with our homes to support staff mental wellbeing, including a ‘mental health check-in board’ at Ashton Manor. This board asks team members the question “what do you need today?”. Whether that’s a pep-talk, kindness, a good laugh, or simply a moment to breathe, team members are encouraged to take a note that will hopefully give them the little boost they need that day.

Working within the care industry can be emotionally taxing at times, and our staff work incredibly hard, going above and beyond to ensure our residents are living comfortable and happy lives within the homes. We are always looking for ways we can actively support staff mental health, keeping channels of communication open and arranging wellbeing activities.

Throughout 2025, our team members were actively involved in fundraising for organisations like The Alzheimer’s Society, The Little Princess Trust, and Macmillan Cancer Support. They took on challenges like sponsored walks and even shaving their hair, all to raise money for these fantastic causes. We are so proud of their kindness and know they are already working on more ways they can support these causes in 2026.

In addition to the fantastic achievements of our team in 2025, we also had the privilege to share in many personal celebrations with our team members over the past year. From weddings to graduations, and several Beritaz babies being welcomed into the world, it has been wonderful to see our team members experience so much joy. At Beritaz Care, we think of ourselves as a family; we are there to support and celebrate each other in all aspects of life.

2025 saw some significant changes within our homes. With new systems being implemented, changes to internal processes, as well as renovations taking place within the homes, our staff had to adapt to a lot of changes. We are incredibly grateful for how well our teams have adjusted and risen to the challenges they were faced with in 2025. They approached every day with a smile and ensured our residents were always happy and well cared for.

It is important to us to show our appreciation for our staff, who so often go above and beyond in their roles. Throughout last year, our home managers took the time to recognise team members for their hard work. Springkell House introduced a ‘star of the week’ initiative in 2025, to recognise those team members who had been a true ‘star’ at the home and give everyone their chance to shine.

During all the hard work our teams were putting in to provide quality care during 2025, we knew it was important to take some time to have fun and bond as a team. Throughout the year, we arranged several social events and team bonding activities for staff within the homes. Staff barbecues and other social events took place over the summer, the perfect opportunity for teams to share some laughs in the sunshine and get to know each other better. We closed the year with our staff Christmas parties, taking place in Dorset and Surrey. Team members got dressed up for an evening of good food, music and dancing, a fitting celebration to end a brilliant year.

We are grateful to our wonderful staff for everything they have done this year to keep our homes running smoothly and ensure our residents always received great care. Our staff are the heart of Beritaz Care and we couldn’t do what we do without them.
