Improvements and updates at Springkell House Care Home

Published on 10th August 2026

We have been busy in recent months making improvements throughout the home, from refreshed communal spaces and bedroom renovations to inviting outdoor areas.

Input from residents has been key to helping shape our plans for Springkell House. Our home is their home, and we want every part of it to feel welcoming and comfortable for the people who live here. These improvements are part of our ongoing commitment to making Springkell House a safe, homely and happy place for our residents.

Recent Renovation Projects

Over the past 18 months, we have embarked on an extensive renovation project across the upper floor of the home. Beginning with unoccupied rooms, we have gradually refreshed all bedrooms with as little disruption as possible.

Each room has been redecorated, with new carpets and doors helping to create bright, comfortable spaces that are ready to welcome residents. In addition to bedroom renovations, all of the top floor hallways have also been given a makeover with fresh paint and new décor. It has been lovely to see how much our residents enjoy the brighter, refreshed spaces in the home.

Welcoming Communal Areas

Our comfortable lounges and dining spaces are where residents come together to join in with group activities, enjoy musical entertainment, spend time with their loved ones or simply enjoy a cup of tea with a friend.

Our lounges have been decorated to create a welcoming feel, with comfortable furnishings, and those little touches of décor that help make our residents feel at home. The dining room has recently been updated with a new design scheme to make this a bright and cheerful space where residents can enjoy sharing meals together.

Comfortable Rooms

We want our residents to immediately feel at ease when they arrive at Springkell House, and that begins with a private space of their own. We have been working to update and refresh residents’ bedrooms, adding touches like coordinating soft furnishings to create a warm, relaxing space. Each bedroom feels welcoming when you step through the door, ready for residents to fill with photographs, keepsakes and all their favourite things to make the space feel like theirs.

Self-contained Apartment

The self-contained apartment at Springkell House is a home from home, providing the perfect balance of independence and reassurance.

With its own lounge, kitchen area and bedroom, in a carefully designed layout, residents have everything they need for day-to-day living while being able to make the most of the home’s amenities and activities. Residents have the freedom to live in a way that suits them, while having access to 24/7 support from our care staff.

Relaxing Outdoor Spaces

Over the spring and summer, our residents love to spend time outdoors enjoying the fresh air in our garden. In 2025, our much-loved outdoor seating and gazebo area was given a makeover.

We added some new garden furniture, as well as renovating some of the older wooden pieces. The refreshed garden space has been enjoyed by residents and visitors alike, providing the perfect outdoor area to sit and chat or enjoy a meal on warm sunny days.

Future Plans for Springkell House Care Home

There are more exciting changes to come, as the final hallway and room renovations are currently being completed, meaning every resident will have a freshly decorated and updated room to enjoy. We are also planning further refurbishments to communal spaces, as well as ongoing work behind the scenes.

We are always working to improve Springkell House and the experience for our residents, listening to feedback to help us make ongoing changes that will enhance everyday life for everyone at the home.
