2025 was a fantastic year for Beritaz Care, and it was wonderful to have the hard work of our teams recognised by independent bodies. This year, we were fortunate to be recognised, not only for our care services, but also for championing our staff as an employer, and for our steps in technological innovations in care.
In the summer, we were thrilled to receive the Gold Investors in People accreditation following our most recent assessment, achieving 'High Performing' in eight themes across the indicators. This award is based on assessments of our Surrey-based homes and feedback from our employees. It is a testament to our commitment to inspire, support, and care for our staff, something which we pride ourselves on as an employer.
Throughout the year, our homes participated in regular mock inspections, not only to prepare us for official CQC assessments but also to help us identify any areas of improvement within our homes. We used an independent organisation to carry out these inspections and were delighted to see our homes consistently perform highly. Any feedback received through these inspections was taken on board and used to help improve our services and facilities.
Following the success in the mock inspection, in 2025, both Windsor Court Care Home and Springkell House Care Home received visits from inspectors from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Inspectors assess the homes’ performance on a variety of criteria, including ‘safe’, ‘caring’ and ‘effective’. When the inspection reports were received, we were delighted to discover that both Springkell House and Windsor Court had been rated as ‘Good’ in all assessment categories, as well as receiving an overall rating of ‘Good’.
We are very proud of these results from the latest CQC assessment of the homes, which reflect the dedication and skill of our staff. In the case of Springkell House, this inspection occurred shortly after the appointment of Jogi as the new Home Manager. His passion and vision for the home was recognised by the inspectors as well as the positive initiatives he has introduced.
Towards the end of 2025, we were looking forward to once again attending the Surrey Care Awards, one of our favourite industry events of the year and a fantastic celebration of the hardworking people in the Surrey care industry. We were delighted to attend the awards, not only as supporters, but also as finalists in several categories. Robertson Nursing Home was a finalist for ‘Nursing Home of the Year’, following their win in the ‘Team of the Year’ category at the 2024 event. Ashton Manor Nursing Home had been named as a finalist in three categories: ‘Innovation in Technology’, ‘Champion of People and Progress’ and ‘Nursing Home of the Year’.
Although we didn’t go home with an award, we were over the moon to have been considered and delighted to support the very deserving winners across all the award categories. It was wonderful to see care workers (from all different departments) have their moment in the spotlight; these people work incredibly hard to support the individuals in their care and absolutely deserve recognition.
During 2025, we have received some wonderful feedback and reviews from our residents’ families and friends (and even a few residents themselves) submitted to Carehome.co.uk. These reviews not only help us to further improve the service we offer within our homes but also provide valuable insights to other families trying to find the right home for their loved ones. Based on these reviews, our homes receive an overall rating out of 10, which is updated throughout the year. In 2025, all our homes have consistently rated 9.5 or above, with some of our homes achieving a review score of 9.9 during the year.
It means a lot to our teams to know their hard work is appreciated and recognised by independent bodies, and the most important judges of all, our residents and their loved ones.
