Why we are glad to care at Beritaz Care

Published on 18th June 2025

This week is Glad to Care Awareness Week, celebrating the hard work and resilience of the wonderful people working within the care industry. Working in care is more than a job, it’s a chance to make a real difference to someone’s life. Our staff are more than just caregivers—they are friends, confidantes and advocates for our residents.

We want to take this opportunity to share why we’re proud to be part of this industry—and even more importantly, why our dedicated staff are glad to have chosen a career in care.

At Beritaz Care, we are extremely passionate about this campaign and ensuring we show our appreciation to the fantastic staff who work in our homes. Each day they show their dedication to providing high-quality care to our residents, as well as providing support to their loved ones. It’s not only those working as carers, but also our domestic, activities, kitchen and administrative staff, who work extremely hard to ensure everything runs smoothly and all residents have a comfortable environment to live in.

We are incredibly grateful to have a wonderful team across our homes who are committed to providing care to our residents and are passionate about making sure every person in our care is living their life to the fullest. Here are just a few of the reasons our team are ‘glad to care’…

“My favourite part of my job is putting a smile on everyone’s faces. I enjoy knowing that what I do helps people.”

“It makes me happy to know I am making a positive impact on their lives, no matter how small it may seem.”

“Working in care requires an empathetic approach, for me it is about being able to support vulnerable people with compassion and love.”

“I enjoy serving the residents a nice cup of tea, it brings a smile to their face and I enjoy knowing I have made them happy. It’s the little things like a nice cup of tea and a friendly chat that can sometimes make their day.”

“I feel valued and supported here and enjoy coming to work each day.”

“I like that I am able to develop good relationships with the residents and really get to know them, it feels like I have 30 grandparents.”

This year, Glad to Care Awareness Week is in association with Care Home Open Week, and you can visit our very own Springkell House Care Home for their Open Week event from 16th to 20th June.

Each day working in care brings new challenges and opportunities to make a difference. Whether it's helping someone through a tough time or celebrating life milestones together. We are very grateful at Beritaz Care to have a team of staff who are all Glad to Care and go the extra mile each day to put a smile on our residents’ faces.
