Jozef's story...
Hello, I’m Jogi and I am the Home Manager at Springkell House Care Home. I had worked as a chef for my whole career, in the army, in hotels and in restaurants. When I came to Springkell House in June 2004 I was looking forward to a new opportunity in an industry I hadn’t experienced before. It was a new challenge, moving away from my home country, which I thought would be interesting. When I first arrived I did not expect to stay at the home for so long, but I had the right support from my very first day.
In the role of Head Chef, a position I held for many years, I took real pride in the food we served at Springkell House. Ensuring that the meals we provide to the residents are good quality, healthy and appetising is something I am still very passionate about. Being able to spend time with the residents creating menus and seeing clean plates at the end of mealtimes is something I always found very rewarding.
In 2025 I took on the role of Home Manager, supported by the fantastic team at Springkell House, many of whom I have had the pleasure of working with for many years. I am excited to lead the team and help to ensure we maintain the quality of care and service that Springkell House has become so well known for.
I am grateful for the opportunity to step into the role of the Home Manager. I am excited to take on this new challenge and contribute in a greater way. I am committed to being a supportive and effective leader for my team, I will work hard to ensure the best possible care and support for our residents and their families.
I have had the opportunity to do many things and have different experiences during my time at Springkell House. I really enjoyed running the lunch club for our local community and taking part in various staff and community events over the years. Most of all I enjoy seeing the smiles on the faces of our residents when I leave at the end of the day, knowing I have played a part in making sure they have a good day.
The team at Springkell House is very friendly, we all get on and work well together. I like to share knowledge and enjoy passing on my experience to others, our team is young and are all very spirited, passionate and willing to learn. Beritaz Care is a company that look after their employees, supporting them through rough times in their professional and personal lives. As an employer they give the staff opportunities to grow in their careers, supporting them with training and qualifications.
I am glad I joined the company twenty years ago, as it has now become like my family. Throughout the years I have had the chance to meet lots of interesting people and have learned so much.
