“I love the team at Springkell House and really enjoy working with everyone at the home.”

Hi, I’m Ashmita and I am a Care Assistant at Springkell House Care Home. I have worked in the care industry for many years and have been part of the Springkell care team since 2022.

I spent time living with my grandparents and saw the struggles they faced as they grew older and began to face difficulties in many areas of their lives. Helping them and trying to find ways to make their lives easier was my first experience of care. This time with my grandparents and the fulfilment I felt helping them, is what first drew me to consider a career in the care industry. I wanted to help other older people who need some extra support.

As a Care Assistant, my job at Springkell House is to support and encourage the residents with their daily activities, such as personal care, getting dressed, mealtimes, taking part in organised home activities and so on.

I get to spend a lot of time with the residents as part of my job, which is something I really enjoy. I like listening to them talk about their life experiences and chatting to them about their lives. Celebrating Christmas with the residents and staff for the first time in my life was a really special experience. I also got to spend an unforgettable time with the residents on a day to Portsmouth beach, memories like those will stay with me forever.

I love the team at Springkell House and really enjoy working with everyone at the home. We have a really supportive team, everyone is happy to help each other. The team communicates very well with each other which helps us to do our jobs effectively and without complications.

I am very happy to be a part of the Springkell House team and the Beritaz Care family. Beritaz Care is focused on providing quality care to the residents, which is a goal we all share. They also provide appropriate training to all staff members to help us carry out our jobs efficiently and to a high level, provide quality care to the residents.
