“What I love most about my job is the satisfaction I get knowing I am helping others.”

Hello, I am Jonathan and I have been a member of the Robertson Nursing Home care team since 2022. In my role as Care Assistant, my daily tasks revolve around helping residents with their immediate needs, such as washing, dressing and maintaining their hygiene, as well as helping them with their basic day-to-day routine.

A big part of my role is getting to know our residents personally, spending time with them to provide emotional support and company, which contributes positively to their wellbeing. What I love most about my job is the satisfaction I get knowing I am helping others.

I’ve always been interested in work that involves helping people and making a positive impact. I enjoy being an active member of my community and helping others. I feel my personal values of caring, being friendly and respectful, match the values of what a Care Assistant should be. Working within the Roberson team has given me the chance to work with people from all different walks of life, which means I get to hear some great stories and gain new perspectives.

Working within a nursing home can be hard at times, but you would be surprised at the amount of positivity and wisdom provided by the residents. The management is great, they provide ample support to make the job as smooth as possible. There is always new knowledge to gain, we are always learning new approaches to providing enhanced care. At Beritaz Care we have regular training opportunities and the chance to put new ways of working into practice.

Every day at Robertson is a cherished memory, getting to interact with and help lots of people each day. Seeing the residents live their lives to fullest is what makes the job worthwhile.
