Join Beritaz Care to ‘make kindness the norm’ this Random Acts of Kindness Week! Each year in February, the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation encourages us to make the time during this week to really focus on kindness and how even the smallest act of kindness can have a big impact on someone’s life.
We are incredibly fortunate to see so many acts of kindness from the staff, residents, family members and friends in our homes every single day. So for us, this week is about showing appreciation for all these kind acts from the wonderful people involved in our homes and our residents’ lives.
From the entertainers who take special care to engage with and include every one of the residents and make them feel special during their activities, to our staff members who take the extra time during their busy days to stop for a chat or to share a joke with the residents. Then, there are the wonderful community members who give their time to brighten our residents’ days by visiting the home, bringing new books for them to read, or bringing in their pets so the residents can have a cuddle. As well as the simple ways in which our residents show kindness to each other and to our staff, with anything from a smile to a thank you. And of course, not forgetting our residents’ wonderful family members who take the time to show their gratitude to our staff with kind words or thoughtful gifts, to make sure they know what they do is appreciated.
It is truly inspiring to see so many acts of kindness in our daily lives, and hopefully this may also inspire you to take some time this week to show kindness and appreciate the kindness that is shown to you from different people in your life. If you’re still looking for some ideas on how you can show kindness to yourself and others, here are 7 simple suggestions from the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation on how you can make kindness the norm this week.
